The Eco-urbanist framework aims at promoting a balanced approach to neighbourhood scale eco-urbanism. There are seven principles of eco-urban neighbourhood developments that we’ve categorized in the following sections:

Although many of the neighbourhood projects we focus on in this project incorporate more than one principle, many of them push one of these types to an extreme without adequately addressing the rest. In the same sense as an ecological system, the ideal form of development strives to keep all these in balance.
